This 3-unit award linear GCSE qualification is only available to students in Northern Ireland, it is not available to English centres.
The course involves the study of three components: four Component 2 Controlled Assessment tasks in Year 11 in response to an annually released CCEA stimulus booklet and one Component 3 Controlled Assessment task in Year 12, again in response to a stimulus booklet. External assessment is via a 1.5 hour online exam for Component 1 taken in the summer of Year 12.
- Component 1 is worth 40%
- Component 2 is worth 20%
- Component 3 is worth 40%.
The course helps students develop audio-visual literacy and creativity through hands-on learning in the craft of moving image arts, building on the skills and capabilities developed in the Northern Ireland Key Stage 3 curriculum. Edusites Media will be supporting centres and students by providing comprehensive guidance for Component 1 and Component 3.
