GENERATION – TV
Refers to the copying of video tape. The original or MASTER TAPE is the first generation, and when this is copied it is a second generation copy. A copy of a copy is third generation. Quality is affected with ANALOGUE tapes but not to the copying of DIGITAL tapes.
