EXTERIOR - TV – Film

A location for a scene which is outside (as opposed to inside) a building, studio or other location. Often shortened to EXT.

Used in a SCRIPT to denote where the action takes place. E.g. Exterior Waterloo Station. Used in a STORYBOARD or SHOOTING SCRIPT to tell the CREW and CAST that the scene will be set outside in the fresh air or that the shot needs to be taken from outside. see INTERIOR
