Digital Video. Digital video recording format family that covers MINI-DV, DVCAM, DVC, DVCpro. Records on to small tape. Very good quality pictures, and has taken over as the preferred format for consumer camcorders, and some location broadcast TV especially documentaries and other factual programmes. Pictures can be downloaded via FIREWIRE or via a USB link for non-linear editing on a home computer.
