DUBBING THEATRE – TV – Film

(right: BBC Scotland Dubbing suite)

The location where a SOUND DUB takes place, has a sophisticated sound mixing desk and video playback often projected onto a large screen. Modern theatres are all digital and use computer editing software to set up and β€˜lay’ the audio TRACKS. The production team can hear the mixed sound played back with the pictures at each stage, and suggest modifications if necessary. A straight forward 30 minute TV factual programme can take about a day (8 hours) to dub, if all goes well!
