DIGITAL EDITING – TV – Film – Radio

Digital editing is now universal in TV and radio as the preferred form of non linear editing.  Dedicated software such as AVID or ADOBE PREMIERE or FINAL CUT PRO can DIGITISE pictures and sound into a computer where they can be assembled in any order on a TIMELINE. Dissolves and other TRANSITIONS can be added and sophisticated effects created including CHROMAKEY. DV digital recordings can be played straight into a digital editing system through a FIREWIRE or iLINK and layed back out of the computer without any loss of picture or sound quality. Digital editing in radio works in the same way and displays the original sound signal as a wave form –double wave form for stereo - on the computer screen so that it can be edited.
