CROSSING THE LINE – TV – Film

Term used to describe a shot where the action seems to be reversed from the way it has been so far, or where a character seems to be looking the wrong side of the FRAME. Literally means that the camera has crossed an invisible line between two or more characters, in order to shoot the scene from the other side. This is confusing for the viewer.
