COMMERCIAL RECORDINGS – TV – Film - Radio

Refers to recordings of music or speech issued commercially by a record company or publisher. Subject to copyright rules and regulations a commercial recording can be broadcast or used in a commercial TV or radio programme with the appropriate payments and licences. Broadcasters have blanket agreements with the larger record companies for using many commercial recordings, but still need to ‘clear’ – that is check with the copyright holders that permission will be granted to use the recording for a particular production.
