CHILDREN in productions – TV – Film – Radio - Theatre
Children under 16 may be employed in TV or Film or Radio productions but there are strict rules about using child actors and contributors. A licence has to be obtained from the local education authority for all child performances which take place during school hours, and a tutor provided if the child is on location or working in the theatre for more than a stipulated number of hours in a week. In a TV studio or on a film set a chaperone must be provided at all times.
