Computer Generated Image. This is the name for the sophisticated and complex world of computer animation in films such as TOY STORY, as well as the computer generated extraordinary effects in SPIDERMAN. As computers have become more powerful, and can store many gigabytes of data, so it has become possible to build layers of computer generated images and add them to LIVE ACTION. One of the first major films to use CGI was TITANIC.
