BLOCKING – TV – Film – Theatre

The planning process where the director goes through the moves and positions suggested for the actors, before filming begins. The term was first used in the theatre. Scenes can be blocked on set or in rehearsal or both. Can include camera positioning and suggestions for setting up lights. See REHEARSAL.
