BACK ANNO – Radio
Colloquial shorthand for Back Announcement. A comment made by the presenter at the end (back) of a magazine item, interview, news item or piece of music, that gives brief details of the contributor and the subject eg ‘the Prime Minister of Australia on the line from Sydney commenting on today’s Pacific summit’. Can also be a few words by the CONTINUITY ANNOUNCER at the end of a programme.
