AUTOCUE – TV
Brand name and generic term for industry standard technical equipment that displays sections of the script in front of the TV camera, so that it can be read by a PRESENTER, newsreader or an actor looking straight to camera. A screen attachment in front of the lens of a video camera displays lines of script. An operator types the text and controls speed, movement and size of the script slowing down or speeding up according to how the presenter reads. Used extensively in virtually all TV STUDIO programmes especially news and any presenter led programmes. Any system like this is known as a TELEPROMPTER
