ASSEMBLY ORDER or ASSEMBLY – TV – Film
A list on paper, usually prepared by the DIRECTOR, of the order in which selected shots and sound should be put together to achieve a first assembly of a TV programme or film. The in point and out point of each selected sound clip is marked with the help of a TRANSCRIPT. Chosen pictures and sound are marked with their in and out TIMECODE so that the editor knows where to start and finish each shot.
