NEA - The Final Countdown 2022

Richard Gent | Sunday March 27, 2022

Categories: GCSE, AQA GCSE

Well, I may not be a preposterously coiffed Scandi rocker, but I am here to give you your final countdown to the big day we have all been waiting for. No, it’s not the day Ray from DT who has been managing the tea/coffee accounts steadfastly for the last 12 years has declared “We’re going to Aldi’s own brand from next week.  That’ll have to do.  If you want your artisanal hand curated Guatemalan nonsense, just go and buy your own.”

7th of May is NEA SUBMISSION DAY!

Here is the information from the oracle itself:

7 May

  • Non-exam assessment submission deadline for GCSE Media Studies (8572/C) June 2022 series
  • Schools and colleges may set their own internal deadlines.

25 May

  • Exam for GCSE Media Studies Paper 1 (8572/1) June 2022 series
  • Start time: pm
  • Duration: 1h 30m

June 2022

14 June

  • Exam for GCSE Media Studies Paper 2 (8572/2) June 2022 series
  • Start time: pm
  • Duration: 1h 30m

So, in this time of extraordinary disruption, attendance issues, emotional spikes and a general sense of pupil (and to be fair, our own) uncertainty, then it’s clear to see that the NEA has NEVER BEEN MORE CRUCIAL.  It’s the one chance we have to reassure the pupils that they have begun to make really meaningful inroads into what we all know can be a tricky exam challenge.  Time spent now, and perhaps again just immediately after Easter, will really prove to be valuable in the long term, especially in light of the huge temptation to be only exam topic cramming at the minute.
