Objectives

Knowledge            : To develop ideas about the EDUQAS set products

Learning               : To build ideas of study of media products by applying skills acquired

Understanding     : To develop understanding by analysis of the set products

Starter/Loop Activity (5 minutes)

  • Resource Pack Slide 4: Task 1A Pupils asked to consider the task from the Lesson Resource: Vance Joy promotional image.

Prepare the Learning (5 minutes)

  • Q/A on loop activity. Go over responses to the Loop activity. Tease out the points relevant to today’s learning – codes and meanings
  • Share the objectives. Revisit terms/issues/ideas from previous lesson’s learning deemed necessary from the previous plenary feedback or marking of Home Learning.

Construct the Learning (25 minutes)

  • Slide 6: outline the EDUQAS guidance on the elements involved in the study and purpose of the product. These are component 1 Section A covering media language, media representations and contexts. These videos are companion videos to those in Group A of which you must select ONE to study alongside RIPTIDE.
  • Slide 7: reminder of the choices and the restrictions of study.
