HUNT EMERSON

Hunt Emerson has been drawing comics since the early 1970s.

JOHN A. SHORT - WRITER

John has a full-time job trying to replace his VHS collection with DVDs and tries to squeeze in some comic writing in his spare time.

He’s been found guilty of creating the strips ‘Rex!’ and ‘Robin Hoodie’ in ‘Toxic Magazine’ and asked for hundreds of other comic offences to be taken into account.

By some strange fluke he once won a National Comic Award for his comic work, but has vowed never to let it happen again.

LAURA HOWELL

Laura Howell has been a professional comic artist since 2006, and a compulsive scribbler for her entire life.

She is the first female artist to work for The Beano in its 72-year history, and is also a regular contributor to TOXIC comic for boys.

To balance out this unladylike behaviour, she has half of her workspace painted pink.

You might recognise her as the creator of the award-winning Brit-manga semi-legend The Bizarre Adventures of Gilbert & Sullivan, but probably not.

SAMMY BORRAS

Sammy is currently an illustration student.

She loves comics and is lucky enough to be able to focus most of her university projects around drawing them.

She loves music and is learning how to play the Ukulele.

She also enjoys animating because it gives her the chance to combine cartoons with music.

She occasionally gets to create illustrations for small unsigned bands and bright posters for events at University.

ALEX PATERSON

Self taught cartoonist.

Not tall.

Dwells in Salford.

Has contributed doodles for:

  • VIZ
  • THE BEANO and
  • REX! in TOXIC Magazine.

GABRIELLE NOBLE

Gabby’s art has appeared in comics as far and wide as Britain, America, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Holland…

But there are probably a few countries where they don’t know her yet and she might still be welcome.

She is slowly coming to the realisation that when your computer isn’t doing what you want, it’s still best not to hit it with a hammer.

FAYE YONG

Faye is an illustrator currently moonlighting as a games artist.

Born and bred in Malaysia, she now resides in England, doing her utmost best to mangle the plummy English accent.

She got her lucky break as the 3rd place winner of Tokyopop’s Rising Stars of Manga UK & Ireland 3, and has gone on to illustrating Manga Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice (Selfmadehero).

Occasionally she ventures out of her apartment to teach workshops in schools, libraries and museums.

The sight of bunnies is kryptonite that instantly reduces her into a puddle of squee.

RACHAEL STOTT

Rachael Stott is an illustrator and comicbook artist living and working in the Midlands.

She is studying for a degree in illustration, which teaches you that negative space is not a place from science fiction.
