Important guidance for using the resource material in the lessons

Some lessons also lend themselves to being divided into more than one session. Where this is possible/desirable is indicated in this Teacher Guide. You will, of course, have a much greater understanding of the needs, capacities, pace of your students and make these decisions where you feel most appropriate to their needs.

Remember: Lessons with a large number of slides have material included to assist you in guiding students to deeper issues/research resources or indicating material that you wish them to explore as Home Learning, possibly as prior reading to the actual lesson. This material is either in the student Note-pack - included as part of this unit and your subscription - or has web links on the slide resource for them to make a note of. You may wish to skip over these slides in the lesson and instead focus on the CSP tasks. You may also wish to split these lessons in two, devoting more time in the lesson to the research material that I have provided for you. This will all depend on your assessment of your own students’ needs.

Some tasks are indicated as means to access the higher grades, those elements that examiners are known to be directed to assess that offer access to the higher bands of marks. Again, you may wish to make decisions about the use of these, possibly indicating a greater importance of these tasks for certain students to focus attention on.
