We are aware that some specifications are currently being accredited by Ofqual.

At Edusites we don’t like to keep our subscribers in limbo so here is Unit 7 of 12 new resources for the A Level Media Studies Specification.

These resources are flexible for the first term when you don’t have to choose which exam board you are pursuing.

Each term we provide a Core Unit, based on the Department for Education Media Studies A Level subject content. (February 2016)

The four areas of this theoretical framework, are:

  • media language: how the media through their forms, codes and conventions communicate meanings
  • representation: how the media portray events, issues, individuals and social groups
  • media industries: how the media industries’ processes of production, distribution and circulation affect media forms and platforms
  • audiences: how media forms target, reach and address audiences, how audiences interpret and respond to them, and how members of audiences become producers themselves

Below are links to all of the elements you will need for the first term. Please read the note on copyright carefully.

  • Do not share any of Edusites resources or login details with anyone not employed at your school or college
  • When we are made aware that there is a breach of our copyright agreement we pursue the individual/s named in our records and/or institution
  • Please note that if you have had a member of staff leave your school you are responsible for telling us
  • We are a self financed independent publishing company founded and run by teachers for teachers
  • Our current subscribers have paid for these resources to be produced and we would like to produce as many as possible for our future subscribers
  • Sharing Edusites resources is not a generous act, it is theft and distribution of stolen goods
  • Our resources have been commissioned and the professional teachers have been paid for the work they have produced

  • For the Autumn term you have three elements to this course; Unit 7 Media Language+ , Unit 7 Exam and the Unit 7 Non Examined Assessment (NEA). All three of these Units then have three different elements, A teacher’s guide named here as the Teacher SOL, Student Workbook and Online Slides.
  • The Student section is to be cut and pasted from the online page into a booklet and printed for the students to work from.
  • Here is an example of one I made earlier
  • Images for the workbook will also need to be available for your students.
  • The SOL Teacher is a suggested lesson by lesson scheme, this can be cut and pasted into your institution format
  • Online slides drive the core learning of these units and are designed to be projected for the whole class to see.
