Programme Details
- Edusites Media provides visually dynamic, interactive Starter, Booster and Revision Courses on TV Science Fiction Films dedicated to, and focusing on specification requirements.
- Students will analyse Science Fiction Films, both mainstream and independent linking with notions of genre hybridisation and institution.
- Activities will include how to respond to a pitch e.g. marketing a new Science Fiction Film while practical activities will include storyboarding the trailer or opening titles of a new Science Fiction Film and designing the website homepage of a new Science Fiction Film as part of an integrated marketing campaign.
- Students will explore texts such as Star Trek into Darkness, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Cloverfield, Independence Day, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man, Blade Runner, Batman v Spiderman: Dawn of Justice, The Double and Moon but also linking with the availability and accessibility of digital moving image Science Fiction on other platforms.
- All key examination areas will be studied such as media language, genre (forms and conventions), narrative, representation, production, distribution and exhibition, audience consumption and platforms, digital technology and regulation.
- All potential areas of questioning will be covered – use your chance to significantly raise attainment.

- Weekdays and Saturdays are available.
- Each course is 3 hours in length and is delivered in both whole group and seminar-style workshops. We can also run 6-hour full-day courses which are more appropriate for larger numbers of students.
- Timings and timescales will be negotiated. We’ll work with you to ensure we match your start, finish and break times.
- Courses are run by experienced Heads of Department, Examiners and Advanced Skills Teachers – testimonials and feedback from prior sessions are available on request.

- A 3-Hour Half Day Course costs from £300.
- A 6-Hour Full Day Course costs from £450.
- Travel and printing fees are also applicable, where appropriate. The workshop rate may vary depending on location.
