One of the issues you can have in an electronic research (surfing) lesson is getting reliable stats from your students. The numbers count and they need to be from a good source, and correct.

The BFI Statistical Yearbook is a fab resource and I suggest you look at this now! Numbers and stats can be found for all UK film info for last year.

For example, these can be linked to box office figures (1.6 billion tickets sold in the UK 2010) or audience figures (81 films per person on average). The UK is the third largest film market in the world and was worth £988 million last year. I’m showing off now…
