MediaEdu offers a comprehensive study and reference bank for all areas and topics associated with GCSE and A Level Media Studies.
The website unpacks media concepts, theories and current debates and discussions, and provides clear and easily followed advice on the various aspects of practical work such as creating an animation, making documentaries, producing a news item, creating music and drama videos, as well as camera and audio skills and techniques, including the whole area of print and photography design, analysis and production.
The aim of the site is two-fold. The site offers teachers and tutors a wealth of easily accessed teaching material that can be used directly in the classroom or as a basis for lesson plans, teaching schemes, etc. saving teachers the lengthy process of research into the topics prescribed by exam boards, such as New Media or Television Crime Drama.
MediaEdu also offers self-motivated research students access to high quality reference materials, such as case studies, film analysis, navigation of conceptual pathways and direct practical help. Find out more by visiting our Sample Resources area.
If you have a scheme of work or an activity that really boosts understanding, then we’d love to hear from you! We pay attractive rates and especially welcome material that will help teachers who are new to a particular exam board or unit.
We also publish a monthly comic strip called Ardnox High which covers the escapades of Media students. Ardnox High was developed for us by Hunt Emerson, a renowned cartoonist who draws Little Plum and Ratz for The Beano.
