‘I need a video cameras for new term for around £100-150. Cannot seem to find any on market with external mic socket. Any advice?’ [Edusites Facebook Group]

You can’t buy a video camera with mini jack external sound for £150 except second hand. You should get one for about £250.
Have a look at the Canon, Sony or Panasonic range (don’t go Samsung or JVC as the coding is difficult) and find the best value camera with an external mic socket.
If you can find one the Panasonic PV-GS150 is very good.
See VideoMaker.com for info on mics and LowPriceShopper.co.uk Rode is the best value.

Also Kodak do a very small camcorder with external mic – not sure of price but definitely worth a look (see Wize.com).
Usually Canon are best for low price camcorders with mic inputs – look for a headphone socket too otherwise you cannot monitor the sound.
If you can get the Canon HV30 (see Amazon). The HV20 also has an external mic port.
