Testimonials | Do you think the session moved the learning forward for your students?
Yes. They now have a detailed understanding of the exam questions and have been given an excellent framework for completing their case studies. The course leader went out of his way to help them and even revised aspects of the exam we did not ask him to which was also very helpful.
I think you must advertise these more as I found them very helpful and will definitely book another one for Y13 in the summer. I think it is great that you tailor them around each person’s needs.
Yes. The course leader had everything ready to go; he had handouts and booklets ready for the students and his enthusiasm was contagious. He covered areas that maybe I hadn’t done so well and was complimentary about the students’ responses and what they had to offer. He also made them, especially the AS students, think outside the box.
Yes.
GCSE: The course leader was very good at clarifying for the students exactly what the exam was asking of them. I also got plenty of good ideas about activities to do with them in the coming week to prepare them for the exam.
A2: The course leader revisited the students’ case studies with them and chatted with them about how to go about answering specific questions. She also gave them pointers on how they might go about improving their coursework.
Yes. Students now feel confident and more secure. Lower ability students were reassured and given examples that they could engage with. Higher ability students were stretched through skilled Q&A sessions; they were challenged and encouraged.
Feedback from our students has all been positive. It was pitched at the right level, engaged them all and they enjoyed the sessions. We look forward to repeating this next year!
