Marketing Media and Audience Feedback

The Brief | Concept

The new unisex magazine (produced in Unit 3) now needs to be professionally marketed; you are working for a marketing company who has been hired by the magazine owners to further promote and sell the new magazine to the target audience of 14 - 18 year olds.

You will need to think about marketing activities used by the media and other industries and think about the 4 PsProduct, Price, Place and Promotion as well as the role that marketing has in the media world.

You will be able to:

  • create your own marketing plans
  • produce advertisements and promotions to support the campaign
  • gain feedback from an audience about the advertising campaign and products
  • evaluate feedback about the media products.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this unit, you will understand the different aspects of marketing and how it is done professionally. You will know how to investigate research by media producers and official research bodies.

You will need to be able to:

  • Analyse the marketing mix for existing media products
  • Produce a marketing plan for a new media product
  • Produce advertising and promotional materials for a new media product
  • Present a new media product and adverts/promotions to an audience and gain feedback
