Students can either sit the Level 2 Award (06537) which is worth the equivalent of 2 GCSEs or they can do the Level 2 Certificate (06536) which is the equivalent of 4 GCSEs assuming all students receive the minimum Pass grade.

To achieve a Pass grade in the Award, students must achieve a minimum Pass grade in only three unitstwo mandatory units and one optional unit (Units 2, 3 and one optional unit – see the list below); to achieve a Pass grade in the Certificate, students must achieve a minimum Pass grade in six unitsfour mandatory units and two optional units.

Unit 1 – Introduction to media

Unit 2 – Introduction to media pre-production
