An Overview
Level 2 Award (06537) and Level 2 Certificate (06536)
This course is 100% vocational and requires portfolio evidence with no exams to sit what so ever which is very appealing to students at this level.
Students should be warned, therefore, that being a vocational subject requires a lot of time, dedication and hard work as without the portfolio of evidence there will be nothing to be marked at the end of the course so students should not opt for this course just because there are no exams at the end!
Students can either sit the Level 2 Award (06537) which is worth the equivalent of 2 GCSEs or they can do the Level 2 Certificate (06536) which is the equivalent of 4 GCSEs assuming all students receive the minimum Pass grade.
To achieve a Pass grade in the Award, students must achieve a minimum Pass grade in only three units – two mandatory units and one optional unit (Units 2, 3 and one optional unit – see the list below); to achieve a Pass grade in the Certificate, students must achieve a minimum Pass grade in six units – four mandatory units and two optional units.
Units
Mandatory units (all these 4 units must be completed)
