Colleagues,

I need your most creative and informed suggestions.

As a music publications company we have always tried to keep up with the preferences of our youthful and knowledgeable audience.

The last few months have seen some very significant developments in the world of Pop Music publicity. Some of our best loved institutions of Pop have disappeared, such as BBC’sTop of the Pops’ programme and ‘Smash Hits’ magazine.

Before that we had already witnessed the decline of audiences for Music publications and the growth of the influence of the Internet in the marketing of Pop Music.

Our marketing department feels that the time is right for us as a company to take stock of the situation facing the Music Industry and where we should concentrate our efforts.

Is there still room for a new paper based Pop Music orientated magazine or should we follow the trend towards web based e-zines?

We need to be sure that we are equipped to enter this treacherous territory. Please help us to make the right decisions and be sure that you are up to the job by completing both of the following two tasks.
